Happiest place on earth? Not at Christmas time

So as I said I went to DL for Christmas day. Let me just tell you it was packed, I had no idea but I guess Christmas is one of their busiest days of the year. If I had to hazzard a guess there was probably 20,000 people.

It was interesting to see all these people, parents with kids, teenagers, crazy Canadians, and then the "happy" employees.

The parents were in a mode of "we're here and the kids are having fun and we have to be here".

The teenagers were being teenagers.

We met this group of four canadians who were down from Edmonton. And I have to say they were a lot of fun, we only talked to them for one line but that was for about 20-30 minutes. They were having fun and just enjoying DL. They were asking people what their favorite rides were.

And then there were the "happy" employees. You have never seen more grumpy people on Christmas then the employees at DL. Except for like 4 of them they just seemed miserable, the Canadians mentioned it to us too.

So everybody has to have a bad day now and then right? For the Happiest place on Earth it just happens to be Christmas.

this day in history

Today in 1783 George Washington resigned as commander of the United States Army. 5 years later to the day Maryland cede 100 sq. miles of land to form the District of Columbia.

And as my esteemed brother pointed out 33 years ago Corey Haim popped into the world.

It is up to you to decide which one is of greater import to the history of this country and world.

Christmas at Disneyland

So I am going to Disneyland on the 25th of Dec, no better way to spend the day of the birth of the lord and savior Jesus Christ then with a giant make-beleive rat. :-)

One of these years I will make it back to Alaska to spend the holidays with my folks, but for this year I am going to DL with a couple of my friends from work. We have been going there for one of their birthdays for the last 3 years and this year we got together and tried to figure out how much we were going to spend on each other for Christmas and what we agreed on was that each of us would by our own ticket to DL and spend the day together.

I do hope everyone out there has a very merry Christmas and I wish I could see all me family and friends but as I cannot I wish you and yours the very best, and hopefully I will get a chance to see you in the New Year.

the world will end in May 2005

Actor doing everything else but acting

Actually to be more precise the world is going to be blown up to make way for an intergalactic highway in May 2005 :-)

THGTTG is coming FINALLY to the big screen and I can't wait, I have seen production stills, the cast and concept art and I think that this one will do justice to the greatness that is The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The only bummer I know of with this movie is that DA was not around to see it come out.

And I think it is better not to mention that other space/sci-fi movie that is coming out the same month.

Actor doing everything else but acting

Actor doing everything else but acting

Living in LA for the past 5 years and seeing this town up close and personal has opened my eyes to how different it is from any other town in the country.

I have visited New York which I love and want to spend more time there, I have been through Houston and Dallas, Chicago, Milwaukee, Tampa, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Anchorage, indianapolis, and just about everyother major city in this great country of ours. And I always come back to LA.

The people here on a whole seem to be trying very hard to be seen. You will see them in the sidewalk cafes sitting there for hours with sunglasses on sipping tea or coffee. I've seen and met some of the bigger named "stars" and have seen and met even more of the smaller ones.

I know personally actors, I know directors, casting agents, producers, writers and I still seem to not move in any direction accept away from my chosen profession so try and figure that out, I dare you to.

I am happy right now, I work for an awesome company which has had me traveling two different continents this past year and it looks good that next year I could travel to 2 more. The opportunity that this job has presented to me is unbelievable and that is why I have stayed for the last 3 years and will be with it for another 3. Though I am starting to move back towards the Industry that has captivated my thoughts and interest since I first saw Luke Skywalker light up his lightsaber on Jaba's air ship in Return of the Jedi. Granted at that time even more in my thoughts then acting was that I really really wanted a lightsaber of my own.
